what happened in November
30th : 2005 in 120
11th : 4AD RECORDS
the great 4AD label celebrated its 25th birthday this year with a series of shows in London during November, featuring The Breeders, Kristin Hersh and TV On The Radio amongst the acts live on stage. I performed my own tribute in respect, by mixing a selection of my favourite records from their back catalogue, so no shortage of Pixies then...
2nd : POLLY SUSHI
the mysterious and enigmatic Polly Sushi took us on a beautiful and colourful trip to the far side of his / her imagination with a mix which included Animal Collective, Weird War, SAHB, The Fall & Shostakovich. All I knew for sure was Polly has great taste in food and music, so play on
18th : JAPANESE ELECTRONICA
25th : GRAHAM BOWERS
this time of year gives me a good excuse to dig out lots of dodgy old Christmas records and muck about with seasonal gubbins and chuck a fairy on top, get yourself xmashed
lots of dusty old records are unearthed for an evening of groovy funk, pop-a-roll from the Head Gardener's vinyl archives. Expect plenty of cheese and other guilty pleasures, with tunes you can hum along to, if your 40+ so no shortage of ye olde Prog and Psych then...
120 minutes of my favourite tunes of the past year, what more do you need to know?
His Master's Rabbit
Graham Bowers is better known for his own unique electronic music but for this evening only he offered us an insight into his own personal tastes. With records from the Fifties to the Seventies he has fine taste in most genres but you heard healthy doses of Talking Heads, Jimi Hendrix Experience to Bowie, Roxy Music alongside Eddie Cochran and Otis Redding, with not one ambient tune in sight, phew!
Konnichi-wa, some of my favourite electronic music comes from Japan, so I digged into my crates and served you a variety of tasty dishes from the Orient from the beautiful ambient sounds of Susumu Yokota and Tetsu Inoue to the glitch of Yasushi MIura and the film scores by Ryuichi Sakamoto to the noise assaults of Merzbow, ahh so

a special acoustic session recorded by Oof Records recording star Meets Guitar. These four tracks recorded in his studio in Scandinavia offered a quite different angle to those on his fine new self titled album :: a chilled night in ::
for his latest exclusive mix for the show, Northampton's finest minimalist son offers us White Line mix #11 featuring several of his favourite ambient sounds of 05. It was just another good excuse to get horizontal for an hour or so
