18th : JOYCE ROOKS ~ in session

I have been looking forward to having Joyce and her cello in
session for ages, since the early days of Myspace, yes that long!
So I hope to do her beautiful and exclusive tunes justice by mixing
in new music by female artists by Clara Hill and Emily Jane White.
     4th : THE LONG ONES ~ mix

Since I was away last week I will pull my thumb out by
playing my own selection of those long tracks that rarely get
played on the radio probably because they are so bloody long!
So look forward to rambling tunes by the likes of Bill Laswell,
Ufomammut, John Coltrane as well as The Jimi Hendrix Experience.

  25th : PARQUET COURTS ~ mix

Finishing off October very loudly are the Brooklyn, New York
punks who make a great noise with their own mix of various rackets
by the likes of Total Control, Milk Music, PC Worship and UV Race.
It will be messy, it will be pretty dumb but it will be rather good.

11th : THE LISTENER ~ mix

Hopefully tonight will start a fabulous new trend of
listeners sending me their own 60 minute mixes of tunes
for broadcast to the world and hey, perhaps beyond?!
So first up is a truly eclectic and suitably hatstand selection
from Steven Stewart who hails from Aberdeen, is an expert
in Scottish accents and believes in Ka, the religion not the car.
His mix is titled Tales of The Expected, expect anything but.
You can listen again HERE
13th : JJ CALE ~ night

In tribute to the late, great JJ Cale, I shall be devoting the entire
show to his music tonight. The centrepiece will be a superb career
spanning selection created by mixer and remixer Flash Atkins
and I shall look forward to playing some of my own JJ favourites too.

     6th : IMPLICIT ORDER ~ mix

What better way to start off this month in The Garden
than with a groovy mix of tunes created especially for you
by The Implicit Order. They are attached to no genre or scene
having formed in 1989 with their unique sound taking in Hauntology,
Rural Psychedelia and Plunderphonics. Tonight this exclusive mix will cover
their favourite artists as diverse as Can and Donna Summer to Linda Ronstadt.

  27th : TOOK A SICKIE

  pathetic I know, sorry...

13th : IT'S FOLK ~ night

And so it came to pass that a recently purchased box set by Pentangle
made me want to go down into my cellar to dig deep and put together
a very folky mix for you. I shall look forward to playing you some older
tunes by the likes of Nick Drake, The Incredible String Band alongside
tracks from the box set with new Folk like Laura Marling and Fink.
